Key responsibilities and duties

  • Line management responsibility for Security Guards at the Fleetlands site, reporting incidents and security breaches in a timely manner to the Site Security Manager.
  • Acts as the Deputy Site Security Manager, as the secondary point of contact for the MoD with respect to Security Controller responsibilities.
  • Undertakes Guard duties to cover absence and shortfalls.
  • Carries out security vetting to allow access to the site for staff, contractors, clubs and visitors. Issues access badges and passes as appropriate.
  • Management of entry to site under export compliance.
  • Daily management of cryptographic access.
  • Manages relationships between internal/external stakeholders, ensuring a professional image is maintained.
  • Supports the Site Security Manager in the development and implementation of Security processes to ensure compliance with MoD regulations and corporate policies; meets business needs that are flexible to change with requirements.
  • Ensures that all Security personnel are current with required certification and training.
  • Communicates effectively to ensure all relevant information is cascaded in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Ensures all relevant records and logs are updated accurately and regularly and that all required information is included.
  • Completes all relevant administration tasks which may change through time in line with requirements.
  • Advising and assisting in training for other Vector staff on Security issues.
  • To carry out other duties as required and detailed separately, with appropriate training.
  • Assists in the planning and preparation for on-site visitors, ensuring all visitors are advised of site security and health & safety requirements.
  • Carry out BPSS, SC and ITAR clearance activities, in accordance with Company requirements.
  • Works in line with organisational values (Integrity, Respect, Excellence, Innovation and Teamwork).
  • Adherence to Quality Management Systems (QMS), Safety Management Systems (SMS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS) and all associated Business Manuals.

  • Able to achieve Security Clearance (SC); (e)
  • Holds a full, manual car driving licence; (e)
  • Competent user of Microsoft Office programmes; (e)
  • Security Vetting Training (Defence Industry Security Association – DISA); (e)
  • Deputy Security Controller (DISA); (e)
  • Security Industry Association (SIA); (e)
  • International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR); (e)
  • Comsec Custodian awareness training ISS (MoD); (e)
  • Export Compliance Service representative; (d)

Experience

  • Experience of working in a regulated environment (e)
  • Experience in MoD List X (Facilities Security Clearance) regulations (d)
  • Experience of shift work would be advantageous
