We’re on the search for a high performing and experienced Strategic Partnership Manager to join our growing Retail Intermediary business. The successful candidate will play a key role working with financial advisory firms and other key partners in the wealth area to identify and secure profitable opportunities for the Standard Life Group. The role will primarily focus on existing strategic partnerships whilst working to identify future opportunities across the retirement planning world.
To be successful in this role, you will be a proven high achiever who is well versed in exceeding targets on a regular basis and with a firm grasp of estate planning and retirement products, as well as being in-tune with the needs of the UK’s leading advice businesses. The role requires national coverage so regular travel should be expected.
What are we looking for?
- A strong background in sales and relationship management, with an understanding of retirement planning products; pensions, onshore bonds, offshore bonds.
- Responsible for engaging with and regularly meeting advisory firms, discretionary investment managers and platforms in order to build, maintain and develop relationships, both face to face and hybrid.
- Being able to demonstrate extensive existing personal network of relationships across the Intermediary space; National firms, Networks, Service Providers, etc.
- Accountable for achieving targeted business activity. This will include meeting targets, identifying business needs, outlining our value proposition, and follow up within agreed timescales.
- Keeping partner records up to date in line with this activity.
- To develop centralised business plans for key partner firms and to deploy the activity, working in conjunction with the retail intermediary regional sales teams for successful growth and retention of existing client assets.
- Working with our marketing colleagues to develop thought leadership content and to deliver this at industry events, capturing market sentiment and innovation requirements to bring into the business and support propositional developments.
