We have an incredible opportunity to join us here at Standard Life as a Business Service Manager in our Service Operations team within Technical Service Operations.

Job Type: Fixed Term Contract (6-month Duration)

Location: This role could be based in either our Birmingham, Telford, London or Edinburgh offices with time spent working in the office and at home.

Flexible working: All of our roles are open to part-time, job-share and other types of flexibility. We will discuss what is important to you and balancing this with business requirements during the recruitment process.

The Role: The Business Service Manager is responsible for overseeing the delivery and management of IT applications and services that support business operations. This role acts as a bridge between IT and business units, ensuring that IT services and applications align with business needs, deliver value, and support organisational transformation goals. The BSM works closely with business stakeholders, IT teams, and external vendors.

What we’re looking for:

  • Proven Experience in End User Services: Demonstrated background in managing or delivering end‑user technology services, ensuring reliable support across devices, applications and colleague‑facing platforms.
  • Experience in supporting and working with Asset Management: A comprehensive understanding of the current Asset Management setup, including the services, platforms, and applications in use.
  • Expertise in Colleague Technology environments: Hands‑on experience with tools, services and platforms that enable colleagues to work effectively (e.g., workplace technology, collaboration tools and device strategies).
  • Experience in delivering technology or service‑based transformation projects: A track record of contributing to leading change initiatives within a Service Operations or Technology function, aligning activities to strategic and organisational outcomes.
