As seen on BBC1 Master Chef and voted as one of London's Top 100 Restaurants; acclaimed chef Peter Sanchez-Iglesias merges the Spanish cuisine of his family with his love of Mexico for his debut London restaurant, Decimo. Expect lots of flavour – open fire cooking, mezcal cocktails, and a dramatically different tortilla – exceptional design, floor-to-ceiling windows and dramatic views across the London skyline.
We are now looking to grow our team and are seeking a dynamic individual who will capture the energy of this restaurant destination, and join our team as a Decimo Waiter/Waitress.
Your role
As a Decimo Waiter/Waitress at The Standard, London, you will become part of an exceptional team with an exciting future. You will of course be passionate about service, with a very strong working knowledge of restaurant operations and order of service, and a deep appreciation for quality food, wines and cocktails – so you can confidently match and suggest combinations that will complement guest choices and enhance their overall dining experience.
Finally, and most importantly, you will be a host to our guests adding a touch of personality and theatre to their experience, making our guests feel welcome whilst they visit The Standard and our energetic and vibrant city; so you will need to be highly social, upbeat and friendly; confident and can handle pressure well; thrive in a busy high volume, high energy environment and can manage multiple tasks and guests with ease.
Do you have what it takes to be a Waiter/Waitress in Decimo?
‘Standard People’ are at the heart of our brand; vivid, dynamic and engaging, and you’ll intrinsically understand the unique microcosm and the context of our venues and city you represent. Prior experience as a Waiter/Waitress is key, in addition you will need:
- Strong experience as a Waiter/Waitress, ideally gained in a similar ‘Lifestyle’ boutique hotel, destination, or high-level restaurant
- Passion for great food, wine, cocktails, design, and service!
- Confidence and expertise in guest experience, restaurant operations, and the order of service
- Highly social, motivated and pro-active; acting with professionalism and positivity in all interactions
- Flair for service and the ability to build genuine relationships with guests
- Available full-time and fully flexible Tuesday-Saturday, as well as the ability to work late-night (Thurs-Sat)
- Knowledge of Spanish / Mexican cuisine, open fire cooking, wine, mezcal and tequila is a plus
- Relevant qualifications such as WSET are a plus
