As a Senior Aquaculture Survey Executive, you will be responsible for surveying and assessing aquaculture sites and providing high-quality service to insureds or their brokers. You will work closely with Underwriting and Claims within the Aquaculture sector to ensure the company meets its objectives in delivering excellent customer service.

What will you be doing?

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Discussing any on-site issues with the Insured and/or Broker, and if necessary, advise and assist the Insured to improve their site, operating practices and/or resolve problems.
  • Attending aquaculture sites around the world for the purpose of conducting Risk Surveys.
  • Producing technical reports for the Aquaculture Department, the Insured and others.
  • Providing support and assistance to an insured when a loss is occurring and ensure that the appropriate action is taken to mitigate losses.
  • Reviewing and analysing trends and patterns in the Aquaculture industry to advise and guide business planning.
  • Responsible for the knowledge transfer between insured farming companies to drive standards in the Aquaculture Industry
  • Responsible for the recording, management and quality assurance of survey data on an in-house data base.
  • Analysis of data produced by the department
  • Providing general day-to-day technical support of existing Insured.
  • Making desktop appraisals of new insurance proposals
  • Providing support and technical advice to Underwriters, Claims Handlers in the Aquaculture Department, as well as others in NorthStandard.

About you

Skills/Qualifications/Experience

  • Previous experience in the Aquaculture industry is essential, preferably including experience in the support industry.
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent in an appropriate subject
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • IT literate, including excellent working knowledge of MS Office and the ability to adapt to new systems.
  • Able to travel at short notice.
  • Full clean UK driving licence
  • Working knowledge of fish farming data management systems.
  • Efficient and effective administration skills, demonstrating an attention to detail concerning work produced.
  • Good planning and organisational skills with experience handling demanding workloads.
  • Experience of independent overseas travel.
  • A curiosity and willingness to learn, to question the status quo to investigate and drive standards.
  • Ability to influence and negotiate
  • Highly proactive and self-motivated
