Job Summary
This role will assist the Group Media Relations team in executing media relations strategies to protect and promote the reputation of the Bank and tell our story to a range of external audiences. The role will provide exposure to a number of global markets and a range of media relations activities at a Group level, including the management of media enquiries and briefing materials, monitoring and reporting of media coverage, drafting news summaries, and coordinating media training for senior leaders. The role will suit someone who is interested and enthusiastic about progressing a career in media relations and corporate communications.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in developing and implementing group media relations plans and strategies to promote the Bank\’s strategy, key initiatives, products, and services.
- Assist in and manage the development of media relations materials such as briefing notes, key messages, Q&A, news summaries.
- Support the team in managing media inquiries including tracking all media engagement.
- Monitor and analyze media coverage of the bank and its competitors to identify trends, opportunities, and challenges.
- Support the delivery of integrated communications campaigns aligned with the Bank\’s key media partnerships.
- Provide ad hoc support for crisis communications and related corporate projects.
- Manage the Bank\’s media relations processes, logs, and trackers with accurate information.
- Coordinate media engagement schedules across different geographical markets.
- Arrange media training and manage the media team\’s training tracker.
- Support the organization of media events such as interviews and roundtables.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure consistent messaging across communication channels.
- Prepare reports and briefings on media relations activities, issues, and trends for senior management.
- Manage vendor relationships, including governance, invoicing, and budget tracking.
Minimum Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in corporate communications, PR, journalism, or related fields.
- Excellent research and analytical skills with the ability to synthesize complex information.
- Knowledge of the financial services industry and experience in banking or financial institutions is advantageous.
- Experience managing multiple stakeholders across locations.
- Strong attention to detail, multitasking, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Highly motivated, enthusiastic, and able to work independently and in teams.
- Strong planning, project management, and coordination skills.
- Ability to develop effective working relationships.
