We are looking for a highly qualified Director to join Standard Chartered Foundation for a 6‑month contract (with an option to extend for an additional 6 months). The role holder is a team member within the Foundation headquartered in London.

They will be responsible for designing and developing the ecosystems and partnerships strategy of the Foundation, building upon existing work. They will partner with the Foundation and Corporate Philanthropy teams to deliver strategic and action‑oriented recommendations on delivery of the strategy across all markets. The execution of the strategy will be carried out by the teams.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy

  • Further refine and operationalise the ecosystems approach of the Foundation that can be applied across selected clusters and markets, including ASEAN, GCNA, UK, US, and Europe.
  • Leverage the Foundation’s strategy and frameworks that have been developed so far.
  • Develop knowledge of key initiatives within the Bank (such as within the Sustainability Strategy team, CIB and PvB) that are linked to the Foundation’s goal of increasing youth employability and entrepreneurship in priority markets/clusters.
  • Apply knowledge to find ways in which the Foundation can partner and align its ecosystem strategy with core business functions where possible.
  • Support the Foundation and Corporate Philanthropy teams in applying the ecosystem and partnerships strategy in the priority clusters/markets (India, Bangladesh, GCNA, ASEAN, Africa), as and when the themes are finalised.
  • Work closely with the teams to identify both internal and external opportunities for partnerships.
  • Support the preparation of reports and communication of key findings to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Provide timely, responsive, strategic support to internal stakeholders (primarily of the Foundation) on key funding/ partnership opportunities in markets of interest to the Foundation.
  • Build on the Foundation’s existing operating model and support their line manager in developing new tools and governance structures consistent with the Bank’s vision, overall strategic direction and growth aspirations for the Foundation.

Business

  • Assess opportunities within the Bank that align with the Foundation’s goal of enhancing youth employment and entrepreneurship for underserved young people, bringing an “outside‑in” perspective, building analytical tools/frameworks, and assessing strategic implications.
  • Support the Foundation and Corporate Philanthropy teams in convening the relevant business functions within the Bank to identify opportunities and develop concepts that amplify the Foundation’s goals.
  • Work with the Strategic Communications team within Corporate Affairs Brand and Marketing (CABM) to develop materials that describe the Foundation’s strategy and partnerships.
