Standard Chartered is seeking an accomplished and dynamic professional to join our Transaction Banking Sales team in London as Director, TB Corporate Cash Sales. This senior role offers the unique opportunity to lead and grow a diverse portfolio of corporate and non-bank financial institution (NBFI) clients, primarily headquartered in the UK and Switzerland. The successful candidate will harness deep expertise in cash management and transactional banking solutions to expand the Bank's footprint in strategic sectors such as large corporates, development organisations as well as NBFI sub-sectors including insurance, investors, and broker dealers.
You will be instrumental in designing and delivering innovative treasury solutions tailored to complex client needs, partnering across multiple markets and internal lines of business. As the Global Transaction Banker for your client base, you will be responsible for clients at a HQ level, originating business for Standard Chartered across the globe. This will mean you will lead the global strategy for your client base, working closely with the Regional and In-country Transaction Bankers to deliver on growth and new business targets. Your leadership will drive commercial success and client satisfaction through strategic account management, comprehensive solution development, and strong cross-border collaboration. This is an excellent role for a results-driven sales leader with a global outlook, adept at navigating multifaceted market environments and fostering long‑term client partnerships.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and implementation of sophisticated cash management solutions including in‑house banking structures, global and regional pooling, liquidity optimisation, and treasury advisory services for top‑tier corporate, NBFI, and development organisation clients.
- Drive execution of the Global Transaction Banking strategy within your portfolio, focusing on increasing cash management, liquidity management and transactional FX revenues, while maintaining strong client engagement and business growth.
- Leverage extensive knowledge of the bank’s global capabilities across the US, Europe, Asia, Middle East, and Africa to present customised solutions aligned with client needs and regional complexities.
- Proactively cultivate new client relationships and deepen existing partnerships, expanding product penetration and co‑innovating with clients to address evolving treasury demands.
- Manage the full sales cycle from opportunity identification, solution development, proposal delivery, negotiation, to successful deal closure and relationship management.
- Coordinate with internal colleagues across Coverage, Financial Markets, Trade Finance, and Technology teams to assemble comprehensive cash and treasury offerings and maximise cross‑selling opportunities.
- Maintain deep industry insight and thought leadership to support strategy formulation and client advisory tailored to sector‑specific challenges and trends.
- Ensure adherence to all regulatory and compliance requirements within cash management sales activities, facilitating transparent and ethical client interactions.
- Build and sustain robust networks with key decision makers across client and banking ecosystems to access influential stakeholders and support seamless execution of complex transactions.
Qualifications
- Education: A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification is preferred, ideally in finance, business, economics, or related fields.
- Professional Experience: Extensive, demonstrable sales experience in cash management solutions within transaction banking.
- Sector Expertise: Prior experience engaging with corporate clients and insurance companies at a headquarters level is strongly advantageous.
- Sales Acumen: Proven sales background within transaction banking is preferred.
- Certifications: Relevant industry certifications such as ACT or other recognised treasury or banking qualifications will be considered an attractive addition.
- Languages: Fluency in English is required; additional languages relevant to client regions will be considered a plus.
