An exciting opportunity to join our Securitised Products Trading team as a Director-level Operational Risk Specialist, partnering directly with deal teams to shape high-quality, secure transactions.
Key Responsibilities
- Attending originator due diligence meetings and assisting with agenda items
- Reviewing transaction structures to assess appropriate segregation of duties and operational controls are in place and working with deal team for practical enhancements where required
- Working with the deal team to develop audit scopes
- Reviewing audit results and following up required remedial actions
- Assess transaction structural protections for double pledge, cash leakage and asset misrepresentation
- Work within the bank’s existing frameworks to ensure adequate management background checks and potential conflicts have been identified and considered
- Act as the liaison person between the deal team and credit
- Provide an overall operations risk assessment on whether the transaction structure mitigates fraud risk in addition to other risks and whether the transaction is worth pursuing
Skills and Experience
- Proven experience in structured finance / securitised products / capital markets or risk, audit, or transaction controls
- Strong ability to assess complex transaction structures and operational risks
- Advanced analytical and data interpretation skills
- Confidence in client-facing environments, with ability to challenge and influence senior stakeholders
- Strong collaboration skills across front office, risk, and control functions
- High integrity, sound judgement, and ability to operate in fast-paced, ambiguous environments
