As a Director in the Rates Quant Development team, you will play a crucial role in the delivery of desk pricing, risk, marking and PnL tool strategy for the Rates business and ensure adherence to the front to back risk governance.
Responsibilities
- Strategy: Be informed with an awareness and understanding of the Group’s business strategy and model appropriate to the role; understand the Rates (G10 and EM) trading strategy, including eTrading.
- Business: Responsible for maximising TPI along with colleagues in the Rates trading and product teams.
- Processes: Specify, deliver and maintain / operate pricing and risk tools and models, with associated controls for Rates trading to advance business and risk management objectives. Collaborate with colleagues in MAG and IT to achieve the above. Monitor system and model performance for shortcomings and opportunities. Provide consultation on models and algorithms developed by others in ARM, MAG and Rates Trading. Ensure adherence to all internal and external regulations and to Group policy and standards related to anti-money laundering where applicable. Maintain appropriate and documented internal controls and procedures and regularly review them to reflect changes in products, systems, policy and regulations.
- Governance & Regulatory: Assess effectiveness of governance, oversight and controls; maintain awareness of regulatory framework and expectations; speak up regarding breaches; collaborate with local regulators as needed.
- Regulatory & Business Conduct: Display exemplary conduct, uphold Group Values and Code of Conduct, ensure compliance with laws and regulations, and lead by example to achieve conduct outcomes; adhere to FCA code of conduct where required.
- Risk Management: Identify, monitor, control and mitigate risks from pricing and risk tools and models; embed operational risk monitoring; ensure documented internal controls and procedures are in place.
- Stakeholders: Engage with Global Head of Rates & FX, FM Product team, FM Trading teams, Local Sales & Trading Colleagues, Legal & Compliance.
- Other Responsibilities: Demonstrate the Group’s brand and values in daily behaviour; perform other responsibilities as assigned.
