Team player with strong leadership, analytical and strategic mindset to drive large-scale delivery programs in the Banking and Financial Services domain. Must have deep hands-on experience in SAP FPSL solution design and architecture, with proven track record in large-scale implementations. Must have experience managing 3–4 team leads (total team size of 20 to 30 people) across development, deployment, and support tracks in SAP FPSL and related ecosystems.

Strong experience in solution design, architecture reviews, and technical governance across FPSL, S/4HANA Finance, and Subledger Accounting. Hands-on experience in SAP HANA XSA, SAP ABAP, CVPM Framework, SQL (preferably SAP HANA) with ability to guide teams on technical best practices. Must have knowledge of accounting processes (Accruals, Fair Values, FX Revaluations, Subledger postings) and regulatory standards (IFRS9, GAAP) in FPSL module.

Strong knowledge and experience in end-to-end DevOps lifecycle including design, build, test automation, deployment, monitoring, and performance tuning in SAP XSA environment. Experience in integration of FPSL with upstream/downstream systems (core banking, GL, reporting systems, regulatory reporting). Must have hands-on experience in managing database concepts, performance optimization, and large volume subledger data processing in SAP HANA.

Strong knowledge of sub-ledger accounting design patterns, multi-GAAP reporting, and parallel accounting requirements. Experience in using tools such as SAP Web IDE, ADO, Confluence, SharePoint, JIRA for delivery management. Must have experience in design, development, and deployment governance to ensure technical alignment and compliance across distributed Agile teams (onshore–offshore).

Proven experience in resource management, capacity planning, hiring, and upskilling technical teams across FPSL programs. Strong stakeholder management skills, working with architects, auditors, and business sponsors to align delivery with strategic objectives. Ability to manage program financials, risks, dependencies, and issue resolution while ensuring timely delivery with minimal post-implementation issues.

Experience in banking domain processes and regulatory frameworks, with ability to design solutions meeting compliance and risk requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Development and implementation of a strategy, for example, awareness and understanding of the Group’s business strategy and model appropriate to the role.
  • Delivery of business and/or financial objectives, for example, awareness and understanding of the wider business, economic and market environment in which the Group operates.
  • Responsible for executing and supervising the Budget process.
  • Lead through example and build the appropriate culture and values. Set appropriate tone and expectations from their team and work in collaboration with risk and control partners.
  • Ensure the provision of ongoing training and development of people and ensure that holders of all critical functions are suitably skilled and qualified for their roles ensuring that they have effective supervision in place to mitigate any risks.
  • Employ, engage and retain high quality people, with succession planning for critical roles.
  • Responsibility to review team structure/capacity plans.
  • Set and monitor job descriptions and objectives for direct reports and provide feedback and rewards in line with their performance against those responsibilities and objectives.
  • Identifying, assessing, monitoring, controlling and mitigating risks to the Group, as well as an awareness and understanding of the main risks facing the Group and the role the individual plays in managing them.
  • Act as the [Process] risk control owner under the Group’s Risk Management Framework (including relevant Operational Risk Framework ownership for [Liquidity] risk).
  • Responsible for assessing the effectiveness of the Group’s arrangements to deliver effective governance, oversight and controls in the business and, if necessary, oversee changes in these areas.
  • Awareness and understanding of the regulatory framework, in which the Group operates, and the regulatory requirements and expectations relevant to the role.
  • Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct.
  • Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank.
  • Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.
