Join Standard Chartered as an Associate Director in Development & Agency Finance, based in London with a hybrid working model. Key Responsibilities

  • Support the end-to-end origination, structuring, and execution of Development and Agency Finance transactions, ensuring comprehensive due diligence, document drafting, and adherence to regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct detailed financial and risk analyses utilizing sophisticated methodologies tailored to evaluate the borrower's profile and transaction structure, ensuring robust risk management.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive financial models to project performance across varying operational scenarios, assessing implications of diverse capital structures and financial products.
  • Craft insightful presentation materials for client engagements, encompassing strategic finance alternatives, market activities, and corporate finance advisories.
  • Continuously monitor client and target company developments to remain informed and responsive to market shifts and opportunities.
  • Drive in-depth research and financial analysis of relevant industries and markets, integrating various information sources to support decision-making.
  • Coordinate seamlessly with cross-functional deal teams across Standard Chartered to align efforts and optimize transaction outcomes.
  • Manage daily project execution activities, ensuring timelines, quality standards, and compliance obligations are met or exceeded.
  • Successfully complete all regulatory examinations and internal approvals required for transactions, including working with platforms such as WorkBench, BCA, and G/RCAF.
  • Undertake relevant Return on Risk Weighted Assets (RWA) assessments to ensure profitable and compliant transaction structuring.
  • Assist in drafting and reviewing transaction documentation, letters of interest, and other contractual materials critical to deal closure and post-execution monitoring.
  • Ensure unwavering compliance with Standard Chartered's internal policies, industry regulations, and business line best practices throughout all stages of transaction management.

Qualifications

  • Proven hands-on experience in supporting the origination and structuring of long-term loans within international banking.
  • Strong understanding of project finance, acquisition finance, export credit agency mechanisms, infrastructure financing, and development bank programs is highly preferred.
  • A strong academic record evidencing motivation and the ability to undertake complex analytical tasks.
  • Excellent analytical skills, with proficiency in corporate finance principles and a creative approach to problem solving.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team, fostering collaboration and shared success.
  • Excellent attention to detail combined with a strong work ethic and a commitment to achieving excellence in deliverables.
