Job Summary

As a specialist in commodities research with a focus on natural gas, energy, and related markets, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing the Bank\’s reputation as a trusted thought leader. You will deliver in‑depth, forward‑looking market analysis that informs stakeholder strategies and addresses complex market challenges in a rapidly evolving global commodities landscape.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively identify emerging trends and significant movements within the energy and broader commodities markets, specifically natural gas, and convey critical insights to senior management.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor by providing nuanced market intelligence and impact analyses, supporting the Bank\’s stakeholders in navigating an increasingly complex commodities environment.
  • Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with internal teams such as commodities trading, sales, and structuring to facilitate two‑way information flow and ensure effective utilization of research outputs.
  • Develop and deliver world‑class research and advisory services that enhance client loyalty and deepen engagement.
  • Communicate complex market dynamics, forecasts, and strategic implications with clarity and precision to varied audiences.
  • Champion and disseminate the Bank\’s house views on commodities through client presentations, internal briefings, and media engagement.
  • Collaborate closely with regional economists to integrate macroeconomic perspectives into commodities research.
  • Contribute actively to the commodities research team’s objectives and development, promoting a culture of excellence, innovation, and inclusivity.
  • Foster positive and open partnerships with key stakeholders, supporting effective knowledge sharing across organizational levels.

Skills and Experience

  • Analytical thinking: synthesize complex data and market signals to produce actionable research.
  • Communicating complex concepts: translate technical and economic jargon into clear narratives.
  • Effective presentations: deliver confident and engaging presentations to internal teams, clients, or industry forums.
  • Global economic analysis: deep understanding of global economic trends and their impact on commodities markets.
  • Oral and written communications: craft high‑quality reports, briefs, and commentary that reflect deep market comprehension.
  • Collaboration and relationship management: build and sustain influential networks within the bank and externally.

Qualifications

  • A degree in economics or a closely related discipline.
  • Substantial experience in Investment Research, especially within the commodities area, with a preference for natural gas and energy sectors.
  • A track record of analytic rigor and market insight gained through research, sales, or product teams within commodities markets.
  • Proficiency in advanced product knowledge and financial analysis methods relevant to commodities trading and investment.
  • Understanding of client relationship management, engaging sophisticated institutional clients and internal partners.
  • Intermediate leadership capabilities, including experience coordinating teams or projects and mentorship.
  • Outstanding written communication skills, articulating complex market dynamics to diverse audiences.
