Cover corporate clients for commodities hedging and financing needs in the Middle East and Africa. Sell financial markets products profitably to allocated groups of SCB customers, acting as their primary point of contact. Provide accurate and timely product services to client‑relationship desks to meet customer needs at competitive prices. Network on behalf of the team with customers and other SCB trading and sales groups to solicit feedback, gain market intelligence, benchmark sales processes and techniques, and enhance the bank’s profile in the market. Enhance the bank’s reputation in the local market by demonstrating a high level of professionalism and developing mutually beneficial working relationships. Provide FX, derivatives, and structured deposit solutions to corporate clients.
Business Responsibilities
- Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of economic conditions and market trends to guide informed dialogue with customers about market risks.
- Respond promptly and positively to all customer requests for specific transactions or general queries, including introductions to appropriate contacts.
- Develop a thorough appreciation of each allocated customer’s business and potential needs for financial markets products through regular liaison with CCIB RM and direct customer contact.
- Engage in active dialogue with key clients to understand their needs and address key issues.
- Work closely with CCIB, transaction banking, and other stakeholders to drive strategic client agendas.
Processes
- Execute trades following credit check processes, CA’s, appropriateness and suitability, and market risk assessments, within any other limits set against the business.
- Follow agreed solutions for implementation of risk‑control policies.
- Execute activities within the end‑to‑end process in accordance with process design and control standards.
- Share joint responsibility with the Second Line for risk and control outcomes and any remediation or risk‑treatment actions to remain within tolerance.
Skills and Experience
- Strong mathematical background.
- Understanding of financial products.
- Banking or financial‑institution background is preferable.
- Markets sales experience or understanding.
- Solid grasp of options, swaps, and derivatives is beneficial.
- Good communication skills.
Licenses
- CI Dealing Certificate preferred.
- CFA preferred.
