We are looking for a motivated and knowledgeable Associate to join our Commodities Sales team, based in London. This role offers an exciting opportunity to engage directly with corporate clients across the Middle East and Africa, providing tailored commodities hedging and financing solutions. You will act as the primary point of contact within Financial Markets for allocated corporate customers, play a key role in driving revenue growth through strategic sales, and contribute to enhancing our market presence. This position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about global markets, possess a keen understanding of commodity price risks, and thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will develop strong relationships with corporate clients and internal stakeholders, working collaboratively to understand clients' businesses and deliver competitive, innovative financial products. Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of corporate clients requiring commodities hedging and financing solutions across the Middle East and Africa, providing expert advice and tailored product offerings.
  • Profitably sell Financial Markets products to assigned corporate segments, ensuring alignment with revenue growth objectives and client needs.
  • Deliver precise and timely product servicing to Client Relationship and supporting desks, facilitating seamless transaction execution and customer satisfaction.
  • Act as a key networker on behalf of the team by maintaining regular communication with clients and cross-functional teams, gathering market intelligence, enhancing sales strategies, and raising the bank’s profile.
  • Demonstrate professionalism and integrity to strengthen client trust and foster long-lasting business relationships.
  • Provide bespoke FX, Derivatives, and Structured Deposit solutions to corporate clients, addressing their unique financial challenges.
  • Stay informed on economic conditions and commodity market trends to provide clients with insightful guidance on market risks affecting their business operations.
  • Respond promptly and effectively to all client requests, whether directly from allocated customers or other enquiries that may benefit from the bank’s expertise.
  • Develop an in-depth understanding of allocated clients' businesses through continuous engagement with Corporate, Commercial & Institutional Banking Relationship Managers and customers themselves.
  • Maintain active dialogue with key clients to anticipate and address their evolving needs, contributing to strategic client agenda in collaboration with CCIB, Transaction Banking, and other stakeholders.

Skills And Experience

  • Comprehensive understanding of global commodities markets, with a focus on price risk dynamics and their implications for corporate clients.
  • Awareness of hedging strategies and financing mechanisms utilized within corporate treasury functions, particularly in emerging markets.
  • A demonstrated interest in global macroeconomic developments and their impact on commodity sectors, enabling proactive client advisory.
  • Previous experience in client-facing roles or sales environments, preferably within financial services or commodities trading, is highly valued.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, facilitating effective collaboration and relationship-building across diverse teams and client bases.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment that requires adaptability, collaboration, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Strong analytical skills complemented by commercial acumen, enabling robust evaluation of client needs and market opportunities.
  • A proven record of successfully managing relationships with a broad range of stakeholders, including senior clients and internal business partners.

Qualifications

  • Relevant degree in finance, economics, business, or a related discipline is preferred.
  • CI Dealing Certificate is advantageous, reflecting a solid understanding of capital markets operations.
  • CFA qualification or progress towards the Chartered Financial Analyst designation is considered a strong asset.
