Area of interest: Corporate & Commercial Banking

This role is suitable for someone who has a minimum of 8-10 years in sales/origination, strategy, and an analytical role. Our desired candidate has a good understanding of credit and compliance risk as well as strong knowledge of institutional banking products and services. A financial services background is strongly preferred but not essential. We are looking for someone with a proven track record of driving demonstrable commercial change. Our ideal candidate must have knowledge of the global regulatory environment, senior stakeholder engagement, as well as strong analytical, quantitative, and credit underwriting skills.

Key Responsibilities

The strategy is to focus on Fintech clients offering New Payment Methods (NPM) products and services such as Stored Value Card providers, Mobile/Digital Wallet Providers, Payment Service Providers, Third Party Payment Providers, and digital asset companies.

Work with other FinTech RMs to formulate country and regional direct client strategy and support SCB group stakeholders in line with the bank’s corporate plan towards Fintech.

Business

Engage key stakeholders from the client side to improve the quality of dialogue and achieve trusted advisor status through proactive consistent coverage. Anticipate clients’ needs and provide strategic advice, alongside the relevant product and industry partners.

Work to share and distribute industry and product knowledge to ensure continual personal development and within the wider Fintech team.

Stay abreast and anticipate the developments of the competitive and regulatory environment that affect our client’s agenda and strategy.

Processes:

  1. Close ties with key stakeholders e.g. Transaction Banking, Financial Markets, Corporate Finance.
  2. Ensure client risks are appropriately identified and managed.
  3. Maintain suitable training with respect to an understanding of the regulatory environment, keeping up to date with applicable changes and Group policies.
  4. Raise key regulatory risks and concerns into the governance framework throughout the Fintech/NPM & FI team.
  5. Adhere to all sales disciplines in accordance with CIB/GB standards i.e. Account Planning, Call Reports, Deal Pipeline Management.
  6. Lead on regulatory, reputational, and ethical matters, taking the initiative for building one’s overall understanding.
  7. Ensure that key regulatory risks and concerns are raised into the governance framework and globally through your people leader and FI matrix as the first line of defence.
  8. Deliver ‘effective governance’; capability to challenge fellow executives effectively; and willingness to work with any local regulators in an open and cooperative manner.

Governance

  1. Support the effectiveness of the Group’s arrangements to deliver strong governance, oversight, and controls in the Fintech business and, if necessary, oversee changes in these areas.
  2. Understand the regulatory framework in which the Group operates, and the regulatory requirements and expectations relevant to the role.
  3. Deliver ‘effective governance’; capability to challenge fellow executives effectively; and willingness to work with any local regulators in an open and cooperative manner.

Skills and Experience

  1. Trusted advisor, providing outstanding account management support, developing and nurturing long-term relationships.
  2. Superior client experience, understanding client behaviours and preferences to shape client strategies.
  3. Analysis of financial reports and statements to evaluate performance and investment suitability.
  4. Financial Markets and Transaction Banking industry knowledge including formulating perspectives for key client industries including trends, directions, major issues, regulatory considerations, and trendsetters.
