Key Responsibilities
- Strategy
- A global role within Group Finance supporting the Global Head of Stress testing and Global Head of FP&A as the Head of ViR.
- Member of the Global FP&A Extended Management team, responsible to oversee and drive the implementation of ViR objectives and commitments.
- Drive the strategic direction of ViR across Valuations 1 to 4.
- Accountable executive for Valuation 1,2 and 4 results with oversight and understanding of the Valuation 3 forecasting and Valuation process.
- Business
- Drives transparency on ViR risks and decision making with open communication to senior stakeholders and regulators.
- Embed and ensure a strong control environment around ViR outputs and communications with regulators.
- Sets and owns ViR testing plans across all valuations and ensure integration with wider RRP testing and activities.
- Acts as the ViR contact point on regulatory requirements.
- Processes
- Embed ongoing improvements, SME engagement and country CFO interaction within the ViR target operating model with close engagement with senior finance teams.
- Work closely with 2LOD and 3LOD functions to ensure effective review and challenge over the ViR processes as part of the ViR operating model.
Qualifications
- Professional Accountancy, CFA or related qualification from recognised professional body.
- Proficiency in IFRS accounting standards.
- Excellent understanding of the valuation methods and drivers of value for financial assets and liabilities, as well as banking entity valuations.
- Working understanding of trading books and an understanding of trading book wind down activities would be advantages.
- Understanding of Banking Liquidity and Capital requirements.
- Experience in financial forecasting using the processes and systems typically in place for a large banking institution.
- Industry experience of Product Control-Valuation Control role would be beneficial.
- Excellent communicator. Internal, external and the regulator stakeholder management.
- Track record in a leadership role driving engagement with senior business leaders, strategic change initiatives, regulatory engagement and managing cross border teams.
- Proactive, creative self-starter and strategic thinker.
- Comfortable working in an ambiguous environment, managing multiple priorities.
- Feels at ease while managing pressure and works well with the team.
- Builds and nurtures great relationships with stakeholders and collaborates well.
- Action orientated and drive to move matters forward.
- Comfortable working in an environment where ongoing improvement is expected.
