Job Summary

The Oil & Gas and Chemicals M&A Advisory team focuses on the origination of strategic transactions, predominantly M&A. This role will support senior staff on transaction origination and execution, contribute to the development of the industry team's strategy, and support client coverage for global clients. The role may be considered at Associate Director or Director level, depending on the candidate's experience, capability and alignment to the role requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting senior staff on transaction origination and execution.
  • Developing, in conjunction with the management team, the strategy of the industry team.
  • Preparing Information Memoranda, teasers, pitch books, presentations, valuation reports and other transaction-related materials.
  • Providing support for client coverage of global clients.
  • Carrying out detailed financial modelling.
  • Collecting, reviewing and analysing financial and other information from multiple sources.
  • Conducting sector and client research, including comparables and other relevant analysis.
  • Preparing and collating information for clients on deals.
  • Presenting information to senior management and clients.

Qualifications

  • A Business, Banking or Engineering qualification with relevant industry experience, or a degree or postgraduate qualification from a top-tier school.
  • Relevant industry experience, ideally aligned to Oil & Gas and/or Chemicals, Energy or closely related sector coverage.
  • Prior experience in a top-tier investment bank or buy-side, with a track record in M&A, as well as Leveraged Finance or Project Finance.
  • Strong financial evaluation and Excel skills.
  • The ability to work effectively in both team-based and self-directed settings.
  • Strong work ethic, attention to detail and a commitment to excellence.
  • The ability to deliver under time pressure.
  • A track record of working effectively as a team member.
