Key responsibilities and duties:
- Ensure all functions achieve agreed quality standards and deadlines in line with customer, OEM and Company requirements.
- Maintain cost effective resource levels and ensure all staff recruited meet the required specification.
- Motivate teams to achieve optimum levels of performance, paying particular attention to Utilisation, On Time Delivery (OTD) & Turn Around Times (TAT).
- Monitor financial expenditure in order to achieve agreed savings and targets.
- Liaise with Commercial Team to ensure customer requirements are being met.
- Ensure that processes and procedures are in place to ensure all functions operate efficiently to the required quality standards.
- Lead the Management Team and the programme strategy and identify opportunities for performance improvement.
- Ensure that team and individual development needs are identified in each function and training action plans are implemented.
- Develop appropriate channels of communication within and across functions to facilitate effective team working.
- Ensure that all necessary facilities and equipment are available and serviceable.
- Act in accordance with the duties and responsibilities stipulated in the Quality Manual and JAR/FAR 145 Management Organisation Exposition.
- Carry out any further activities in support of the business as required and reasonably requested.
- Adherence to our Quality Management Systems (QMS), Safety Management Systems (SMS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS) and all associated Business Manuals.
Competencies:
- Core: Good communication skills; Good leadership skills; Performance management of staff; Self-motivated, and able to prioritise and manage own workload; Good team work and problem-solving skills; Organising workload to achieve output with minimal supervision.
- Functional: Essential Training/experience in a technical field; Experience of managing a multi-functional team in a challenging and dynamic environment.
- Desirable: Familiarity with quality procedures and documentation including process paperwork, parts routing procedures, Engineering Repair Instructions, Detailed Work Instructions and Non-Conformance Report system; Project management experience.
Organisational Relationships: The role will be working with multiple aspects of Standard Aero globally and will be required to be the main focal point of the Business Unit.
Professional Qualifications/Education and Training: Formal education ideally in Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain (degree level preferred); 5 years’ experience in relevant discipline working at senior level; Demonstrable skills in leading a diverse group of employees.
Experience: Working within an Operational Aerospace MRO environment. This is not an exhaustive list and from time to time additional responsibilities may be provided directly from your Line Manager.
