Key responsibilities and duties:

  • Delivery of theoretical and practical technical training to apprentices and new hires across the Rotary and Engines Business Units.
  • Monitor apprentice performance, competence and attendance, and development progress.
  • Develop and maintain technical training materials and supporting documentation.
  • Assess training needs and assist in development of suitable training courses to meet business need.
  • Ensure training content aligns with regulatory requirements and organisational procedures.
  • Maintain accurate training records and assessment documentation.
  • Support internal and external training audits as required.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of legislation relevant to technical training.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within technical training.
  • Promote a strong safety culture and professional behaviours within the training environment.
  • Adherence to our Quality Management Systems (QMS), Safety Management Systems (SMS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS) and all associated Business Manuals.

Competencies:

  • Core: Strong verbal and written communication (e).
  • Ability to build positive working relationships with a range of different stakeholders and trainees (e).
  • Strong coaching and mentoring capability (d).
  • Ability to manage multiple training priorities and maintain accurate records (e).
  • Functional: Strong technical knowledge of:
    • Engineering principles and hand skill fundamentals.
    • Rotary wing aircraft systems.
    • Gas turbine engines.
    • Aircraft maintenance procedures (e).
  • Knowledge of aviation regulatory requirements, maintenance documentation, safety management systems, and quality and compliance standards (e).
  • Ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly and effectively (e).

Organisational Relationships:

  • Key interfaces with: Line Manager, Engineering, Quality, Apprenticeship providers, External training organisations, Operations managers.

Professional Qualifications/Education and Training:

  • Relevant engineering qualification or apprenticeship (Level 3) (e).
  • Recognised instructional or training qualification (d).

Experience:

  • Significant aviation engineering experience or aircraft maintenance experience within an aviation MRO environment (e).
  • Experience delivering technical training, coaching, mentoring, or apprenticeship support (e.g. on-the-job training) (d).
