Key responsibilities and duties:
- Use hand skill as appropriate using multiple forming techniques to manufacture & fabricate aircraft structural parts from metallic raw materials (predominantly aluminium) using hand skills and tooling in combination with machinery techniques where needed.
- Interpret technical documentation.
- Work with aircraft technicians for fine adjustment of manufactured parts to ensure aircraft fitment.
- Co-ordinate with the heat treatments team where needed.
- Contribute to team delivery of agreed targets and goals.
- Comply with current Tool Control procedure.
- Attend and contribute to team meetings.
- Support a climate of continuous improvement to assist productivity, quality and lean methodology.
- Achieve maximum flexibility; team members will undertake training and train other team members.
- Undertake work to the highest level of competence.
- Agree to do other duties within the team to support team output.
- Work within and promote the Behavioural Competencies.
- Adhere to Quality Management Systems (QMS), Safety Management Systems (SMS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS) and all associated Business Manuals.
Competencies:
- Core Essential: Team worker that has the ability to fully interact with other team members; Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Desirable: Ability to provide advice as a subject matter expert.
Functional Essential:
- Full compliance and understanding of Quality Management System; Actively participate in continuous improvement activities.
Organisational Relationships:
- Reports directly to the Front Line Manager.
Professional Qualifications/Education and Training:
- Essential: Recognised indentured apprenticeship or military equivalent; Human Factors; Experience of working with forming parts from raw materials.
- Desirable: Suitable engineering qualification, preferably in an aviation area but not essential; Familiar with Military MRP 145 and associated Regulatory Articles (RA’s).

- Previous experience within would be an advantage.
