IT Security Manager Guildford | Hybrid | Space Agency | Let's build a Rocket! Most security leadership roles either pull you away from the technology or keep you stuck in the weeds. This role offers both. Standard 8 is supporting a Space agency looking to appoint an IT Security Manager to lead its internal security capability. You'll manage a small team, shape security strategy and remain hands-on where it matters, helping protect a complex technology estate spanning infrastructure, cloud platforms and business-critical systems. It's a great opportunity for an experienced Security Manager or a senior security engineer ready to step into a broader leadership role.
The Role
You'll take ownership of security across the organisation, working closely with technical teams and senior stakeholders to improve security posture, manage risk and drive continuous improvement. Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and developing a small cyber security team
- Delivering the organisation's security roadmap and controls framework
- Acting as the senior escalation point for security-related issues
- Overseeing security operations, incident response and vulnerability management
