We’re recruiting for a growing legal team that actually knows what fast-track credit hire litigation looks like in the real world. This is a Claims Handler role for someone with at least 12 months litigation experience. Credit hire experience helps, but it’s not a deal breaker; they’ll train you if the fundamentals are there.

Busy desk, proper caseload, no hiding behind process documents.

What you’ll actually be doing day to day:

  • Reviewing new matters and making early calls on whether they fly or die.
  • Running fast-track litigated files end to end, not cherry-picking the easy bits.
  • Managing limitation dates, trials, directions and all the things that bite if you miss them.
  • Keeping files clean, accurate and defensible.
  • Speaking to witnesses, experts, Counsel, courts, insurers and other solicitors.
  • Preparing matters for CMCs, assessments and hearings.
  • Updating clients and introducers without being chased.
  • Flagging disbursements early so accounts do not have a breakout later.
  • Getting stuck into credit hire issues around need, rate, period and enforceability.
  • Helping the wider team when needed.

What we’re looking for, realistically:

  • Minimum 1 year litigation experience, fast-track experience ideal.
  • Credit hire exposure is a plus, not a must.
  • Solid grasp of liability, causation and quantum.
  • Comfortable drafting basic schedules of loss without panicking.
  • Confident dealing with Counsel and experts, or at least not intimidating them.
  • Organised, deadline-aware and capable of juggling competing priorities.
  • Decent IT skills and experience with case management systems.

This is a solid step for a litigation handler who wants more responsibility and better exposure. Ideal for someone ready to sharpen your credit hire credentials and move up a gear.
