The Role

You’ll be working closely with solicitors and fee earners to ensure costs are drafted properly, recovered efficiently and handled without unnecessary drama. Day to day includes:

  • Drafting legal costs schedules for hearings, mainly across Housing Disrepair and Environmental Act matters
  • Negotiating costs on concluded cases
  • Working with fee earners to ensure costs are accurate and recoverable
  • Supporting and supervising junior costs paralegals
  • Carrying out enforcement activity where required
  • Helping keep the wider team running smoothly

  • Around 2+ years’ experience in costs drafting
  • Comfortable speaking with fee earners and external parties
  • Strong written work and good attention to detail
  • Able to work efficiently without constant supervision
  • Solid IT skills
  • Proclaim and CostsMaster experience is ideal
