We are working with a product-led business looking for a senior Ruby engineer who can combine strong technical delivery with team leadership. This role would suit either an experienced Development Manager who still enjoys being hands-on, or a Lead Ruby Developer ready to take more ownership around people, delivery and engineering standards. You will spend most of your time building and improving software across a modern web platform, while also helping guide a small engineering team and improve delivery processes. The environment is technically strong, pragmatic and low on unnecessary process. They want someone who can help scale engineering capability without slowing things down.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Hands-on development across Ruby on Rails applications
  • Modernising existing systems and building new product features
  • Working closely with technical leadership on architecture and engineering decisions
  • Mentoring developers and improving coding standards
  • Supporting delivery planning and helping keep projects moving
  • Improving review, testing and deployment processes
  • Helping manage offshore or contract development resource where needed

The in-house Tech Stack ranges from Ruby on Rails, React / Next, JavaScript and AWS.
