Enforcement Solicitor - Debt Recovery

This is a hands-on enforcement role for a solicitor who understands what happens after a settlement or judgement has been secured. You’ll be responsible for making sure damages, costs, disbursements and other outstanding sums are actually recovered rather than left sitting unpaid.
You’ll manage your own caseload of debt recovery and enforcement matters, reviewing settlements, court orders and judgments, keeping on top of payment deadlines and taking the appropriate action when money isn’tforthcoming.
The work includes issuing Part 8 proceedings, making enforcement applications, preparing N260 schedules, drafting formal demands and dealing with the credit control and recovery of damages, legal costs and disbursements.
You’ll also negotiate outstanding legal fees and expenses and deal directly with clients, defendants, the courts, enforcement agents and other third parties.
What we’re looking for
• You’ll need to be a qualified Solicitor.
• You should have practical experience of pursuing unpaid judgments, damages or costs and be comfortable drafting applications, corresponding with the courts and negotiating recovery.
• You’ll need to manage deadlines properly, keep a busy caseload under control and know when a pragmatic commercial solution makes more sense than creating unnecessary litigation.
• Experience of Proclaim or another case management system would be useful, but it isn’t essential.
