We are seeking a talented and commercially astute Quantity Surveyor to join our established demolition contracting business based in St Albans. This is an excellent opportunity to play a pivotal role in pricing and securing new projects, as well as overseeing the commercial aspects throughout the construction phase.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate and competitive tenders for demolition projects.
- Liaise with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors to obtain quotations and clarify project requirements.
- Negotiate and secure new contracts, supporting the business development team.
- Oversee the commercial management of projects from award through to final account.
- Monitor project costs, valuations, variations, and payments.
- Provide regular financial reports and forecasts to senior management.
- Ensure compliance with contractual terms and company procedures.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the demolition or wider construction sector.
- Strong background in tendering, estimating, and commercial management.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently in an office-based environment.
- Relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying or Construction (HNC/HND/Degree).
- Proficient in MS Office and industry-standard estimating software.
