About Us
Stanbroke is a reputable family-owned and operated Australian cattle and beef business. Our operations span Northern Queensland with extensive cattle properties, backgrounding operations in Southern Queensland, state-of-the-art feedlots, a fully accredited beef processing facility, and global marketing capabilities. We produce a full range of Grain and Grass-fed beef categories and export to over 40 countries worldwide.
What you’ll be doing:
- Promote safe work practices and uphold high standards of hygiene and food safety throughout the QA function.
- Lead, mentor, coach, and develop the Quality Assurance team.
- Manage team performance, attendance, rostering, leave planning, and training requirements.
- Monitor compliance with DAFF export requirements, Approved Arrangement programs, HACCP plans, Australian Standards, customer specifications, and regulatory standards.
- Oversee food safety, quality assurance, GMP, and verification programs across the facility.
- Manage inspection activities, product monitoring, environmental monitoring, and quality verification checks.
- Coordinate and support internal and external audits, including BRCGS, AUS-MEAT, Halal, Organic, customer, and regulatory audits.
- Investigate customer complaints, quality incidents, non-conformances, and product deviations, ensuring timely corrective and preventive actions are implemented.
- Maintain and verify HACCP-based food safety systems and prerequisite programs.
- Ensure quality records, documentation, and reports are completed accurately and maintained in accordance with company and regulatory requirements.
- Deliver food safety, quality, and compliance training to operational teams.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on product quality, food safety performance, efficiency, and compliance.
- Support the Quality Manager in achieving departmental and business objectives.
What you’ll bring:
- Previous experience in a Quality Assurance leadership, supervisory, or management role within the meat processing, food manufacturing, or export food industry.
- Strong working knowledge of HACCP, GMP, food safety systems, quality management systems, and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Experience managing teams and fostering a positive workplace culture.
- Sound understanding of export meat processing requirements and customer specifications.
- Demonstrated experience with AUS-MEAT, BRCGS, Halal, Organic, and major customer audit standards.
- Excellent leadership, communication, coaching, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making abilities.
- The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and manage competing priorities.
- Certificate III/IV in Food Safety or Meat Processing (desirable).
- Tertiary qualifications in Food Science, Microbiology, Agriculture, Quality Assurance, or a related discipline will be highly regarded.
