We’re looking for a hands-on and detail-focused Laboratory Assistant to join our Quality Assurance team at our Grantham processing facility. If you’ve got an eye for detail, a passion for food safety, and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, this could be the perfect role for you.

Your Role: Reporting to the Laboratory Supervisor, you’ll play an important part in maintaining the highest standards of product quality and safety across our operations. From collecting samples and conducting swabs to supporting testing and reporting, you’ll help ensure every product leaving our facility meets our premium standards.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Carry out routine swabbing across PPE, belts, and carcasses to ensure the highest hygiene standards are maintained.
  • Collect, prepare, and manage samples for both in-house and external laboratory testing.
  • Record and analyse data with accuracy and attention to detail, reporting any irregularities.
  • Support the QA team by following all laboratory and food safety procedures in line with company and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organised lab environment that supports quality and compliance.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Previous experience in a food or meat laboratory or QA environment (preferred).
  • Strong attention to detail and accurate record-keeping.
  • Organised, thorough, and takes pride in doing things right the first time.
  • Understanding of microbiological testing and hygiene standards (highly regarded).
  • Team-focused attitude with a willingness to learn and contribute.
