A true HR generalist role where your breadth of experience actually gets used. If you're hands-on, down-to-earth, and ready to be the go-to person across a real Australian agricultural business, read on.
About us
Stanbroke is a reputable family-owned and operated Australian cattle and beef business. Our operations span across Northern Queensland, with extensive cattle properties, backgrounding operations in Southern Queensland, state-of-the-art cattle feedlots, a fully accredited beef processing facility and global marketing capabilities. We offer a full range of Grain and Grass-fed beef categories and export to over 40 countries globally.
Your role
As the Human Resources Business Partner - Primary Production, you'll support our cattle stations and two feedlot operations - a genuinely standalone role where no two weeks look the same. You'll be based out of our processing plant at Grantham, but you'll be regularly on the road visiting sites across QLD and NSW. The people you support are practical, no-nonsense, and will respect you for knowing your stuff and getting things done.
What you'll be doing
- Being the first call for managers dealing with people issues - performance, conflict, investigations, and anything in between
- Supporting and coaching site managers to handle day-to-day HR matters with confidence
- Keeping the business compliant across employment law, enterprise agreements, and WHS obligations
- Leading WHS initiatives across sites and making sure safety isn't just a document on a shelf
- Developing and maintaining HR policies and documentation that people actually use
- Supporting recruitment and onboarding
- Driving engagement initiatives that make sense in a rural and agribusiness context
What you'll bring
You're someone who's been around the block in HR. You don't need your hand held, and you'd rather solve a problem than escalate it. Specifically:
- Solid generalist HR experience - you've handled ER, WHS, compliance, and recruitment, not just one of these
- Experience in agriculture, primary production, food processing, hospitality, or similarly operational, blue-collar environments is a real advantage
- Comfortable working as a standalone operator - you set your own priorities and manage your own time
- Sound knowledge of employment law and WHS legislation
- A genuine ability to connect with people at every level
- Current driver's licence and willingness to travel regularly across QLD and NSW
- A degree in HR, IR, or a related field is desirable - but if you've got the runs on the board without one, we want to hear from you anyway.
Why join Stanbroke?
- A real role with real variety - no two sites, no two problems, no two days the same
- Be part of a proudly family-owned and leading Australian agribusiness
- Grantham based with meaningful site exposure - you'll actually know the business you support
- Exclusive staff discounts on premium Stanbroke beef products
- A supportive team that values hard work, and people who get things done
