We are looking for a commercially driven and relationship‐led Signature Relationship Manager to grow, retain and deepen a portfolio of high‐value and ultra‐high‐net‐worth clients within our Private Banking segment. This role is suited to an experienced banking professional with a proven track record in building trusted client relationships, identifying client needs, structuring appropriate financial solutions and driving sustainable portfolio growth. The successful candidate will act as the primary relationship owner for Signature clients, providing personalised, high‐touch banking solutions aligned to the client's lending, investment, advisory and broader financial needs.
Job Purpose
To grow, maintain and retain a portfolio of Signature Banking clients within the Private Banking segment by delivering relationship‐led financial solutions, deepening client value, identifying sales opportunities and ensuring strong alignment to the segment value proposition, risk appetite and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Build, manage and retain trusted relationships with high‐value and ultra‐high‐net‐worth clients through regular, value‐adding engagement and proactive portfolio management.
- Identify client needs and sales opportunities by analysing financial information, understanding client objectives and recommending appropriate banking, lending, investment, insurance and advisory solutions.
- Drive portfolio growth by acquiring new Signature clients, deepening existing relationships and collaborating with internal specialists across relevant business areas.
- Structure and motivate credit applications, including complex lending requirements, while ensuring sustainable bankability, sound due diligence and effective credit risk management.
- Retain client balances and wallet share through competitive pricing, relationship ownership, tailored propositions and proactive stakeholder engagement.
- Ensure all client interactions, advice, instructions, documentation and portfolio activity are managed in line with FAIS, compliance, risk and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or Advanced Diploma (FAIS Aligned NQF7 or Higher) in Business Commerce, Finance, Banking or Economics.
- Must meet FAIS Fit and Proper requirements.
Experience Required
- 5 to 7 years' experience in relationship banking, private banking, affluent banking or a similar client portfolio environment.
- Proven experience managing high‐value or ultra‐high‐net‐worth client relationships.
- Strong track record in building long‐term client relationships, identifying sales opportunities and delivering client‐led financial solutions.
- Experience in growing and retaining client portfolios, managing revenue targets and deepening client value across banking, lending, investment and advisory solutions.
- Strong understanding of credit structuring, client financial analysis, risk management, compliance and stakeholder collaboration.
