Swimming Instructor—Stamford School
Stamford School is looking to hire passionate Level 2 Swimming Instructors to deliver the highest standard of swimming instruction for our popular Swim School held at the main Sports Centre.
Key responsibilities include:
- Ensure swimming lessons operate within the Stamford School Normal Operating Procedures and Emergency Action Plan and comply with risk assessment controls.
- Adhere to lesson start and finish times.
- Follow the standards set by the Swim School Principal and place students in the correct class.
- Assist staff in identifying individual needs and provide additional support as required.
- Oversee smooth transfer of pupils between classes.
- Communicate regularly with teaching staff to ensure smooth running of the Swim School.
- Follow the ‘learn to swim framework’ and issue certificates when necessary.
- Identify and encourage gifted pupils to progress to higher levels, guiding them through the pathway from lessons to aquatic skills.
- Attend mandatory staff training sessions and maintain the required number of training hours set in the NOP to keep NPLQ training hours up to date.
- Hold a Level 2 Swim England qualification in teaching swimming; STA qualifications may also be accepted.
- Have a proven record of personal development and regular attendance at training.
- Know lifesaving methods and procedures, including first aid and standard resuscitation measures.
- Understand rules and regulations governing conduct of the public and school children at swimming pools.
- Understand COSHH regulations and Health and Safety in respect of swimming pools.
