Stamford School is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Teacher of Physical Education to join our Sports Department, starting from September 2026. This role is a fixed term role covering a maternity leave. Stamford values the role of PE in the curriculum, offering GCSE PE, A level PE, and Level 3 BTEC National and Extended Diplomas in Sport.

PE at Stamford is taught by an experienced team of specialist teachers, who also contribute fully to the Sporting life of the school. Our PE teachers are passionate about the subject both inside and beyond the classroom. The departmental culture champions teamwork, passion, and purpose. The team support one another, celebrate each other’s wins and losses (on and off the field), and go the extra mile to ensure all pupils have a pathway that works for them.

PE is well-resourced, with teaching taking place in dedicated classrooms across both St Paul's and St Martin’s sites. These are equipped for a wide range of activities and with networked electronic whiteboards to support teaching and learning.

  • A good honours degree in a related subject and postgraduate certificate in education (QTS).
  • Experience of teaching or working with GCSE and Sixth Form aged students.

  • Demonstrate a good knowledge and understanding of current issues relating to the personal development of young people.
