We are seeking to appoint an outstanding Netball and Games Coach to support and further enhance our successful netball programme across our Junior and Senior School. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced netball coach who is passionate about nurturing talent, inspiring young players, and developing the next generation of netballers within a thriving sporting environment.
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and supporting the netball provision across all age groups, delivering high-quality coaching, training and match preparation throughout the year. Additionally, working closely with the Director of Netball, the postholder will play a supporting role in establishing, formalising, and sustaining partnerships with county, super league academies, and local clubs, ensuring a clear and connected pathway from school to county and our collaborative Nottingham Forest player development pathways.
Netball is one of Stamford’s flagship sports, achieving success in both participation and performance. Recent highlights include our regular representation of our U14, U16, U19 girls at regional and national finals with school seen as the leader in netball provision within the county and beyond. A highlight for the students is the biannual tour to South Africa. The school hosts IAPS and county tournaments and is also home to Stamford and Rutland Netball Club hosting the regional club league on Sundays.
- Level 1 qualification (or recognised worldwide equivalent).
- Demonstrate experience of coaching and developing players across both participation and performance levels.
- A strong understanding of player development pathways, with experience in supporting talented players through representative pathways.
- Proven ability to deliver high-quality coaching sessions that engage, challenge, and motivate young people.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and external partners.
- Highly organised, punctual, and efficient, with strong time management and attention to detail.
- A team-focussed approach, able to work collaboratively under the direction of the Director of Netball and within the wider Sports Department.
- High professional standards in conduct, presentation, and commitment to safeguarding and child welfare.
- Enthusiasm for inspiring lifelong enjoyment of netball and sport among students of all abilities.
- Experience of playing or coaching at a professional, county or academy level.
- A proven record of contributing to or implementing performance pathway programmes.
- Experience of building partnerships with clubs and performance pathways.
- Strong ability to mentor and support other coaches or teachers, promoting consistent standards and shared development.
- A creative and proactive mindset, capable of contributing to the ongoing growth and vision for netball at Stamford School.
- Experience supporting school fixtures, tours, or netball festivals within an educational environment.
