Are you an experienced Shift Engineer, Electrical Shift Engineer or Critical Facilities Engineer looking to work in a state-of-the-art data centre?
This is an excellent opportunity to join a leading facilities management company providing engineering services within a mission-critical environment where reliability and technical excellence are paramount.
Working on a continental shift pattern (days & nights), you'll be responsible for maintaining critical electrical infrastructure, carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM), responding to reactive breakdowns and ensuring maximum uptime across this high-profile site.
The Role
As a Shift Engineer, your responsibilities will include
- Carrying out planned and reactive electrical maintenance on critical building services.
- Maintaining UPS systems, generators, switchgear, electrical distribution and associated plant.
- Diagnosing faults and completing repairs efficiently.
- Responding to alarms and emergency situations within the data centre.
- Completing maintenance records using CAFM systems.
- Acting as the site's HV Authorised Person (AP).
- Managing permit-to-work procedures and ensuring safe systems of work.
- Supervising specialist subcontractors where required.
- Maintaining plant rooms and ensuring the highest housekeeping standards.
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives to maximise system reliability.
What We're Looking For
To be considered you'll ideally have
- Experience as a Shift Engineer, Electrical Shift Engineer, Critical Facilities Engineer, Maintenance Engineer or Data Centre Engineer.
- Experience within a data centre, critical environment, commercial building or industrial facility.
- Strong knowledge of electrical distribution, UPS systems, generators and switchgear.
- Experience carrying out both PPM and reactive maintenance.
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
- NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- Time-served electrical apprenticeship.
- HV Authorised Person experience would be highly desirable.
- Inspection & Testing (2391) is advantageous.
