We are hiring a Commercial Gas / Mechanical / Heating Engineer to join a well-established team on a critical hospital site in Hastings. This is mainly a static role with very occasional travel to Canary Wharf when required.
It's a steady role with strong earning potential and a team that offers genuine flexibility when needed.
The Role
You will be working across mechanical, boiler and steam systems within a live hospital environment, covering both planned and reactive works. The role includes PPMs, breakdowns, fault finding, and general mechanical maintenance, alongside maintaining compliance records and using a tablet to complete job reports. You will also be expected to support energy efficiency improvements and maintain good working relationships with the on-site client team.
Location
The role is primarily based at a large hospital in Hastings, with very occasional travel to a site in Canary Wharf. Ideal candidates will be based around Hastings, Sevenoaks, or nearby areas.
Hours
Monday to Friday, 08:00–17:00, with a call-out rota of 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off (flexible and open to discussion).
Salary & Benefits
Basic salary up to £55,000. Overtime is paid at enhanced rates: time and a half evenings, double time overnight, weekends paid at time and a half rising to double time, and double time plus a day in lieu for bank holidays.
