Welcome to the Audi F1 Project. Audi will be competing in the FIA Formula 1 World Championship from 2026. The new team has three locations: Audi's Motorsport Competence Center in Neuburg (Germany), the Sauber Group's Formula 1 factory in Hinwil (Switzerland), and the Sauber Motorsport Technical Center in the UK.

Your mission:

  • Be involved in all aspects of the race car aerodynamic development, from initial ideas and design to analysis with numerical and experimental simulations.
  • Manage complex aerodynamics projects, working closely with aerodynamicists, CFD engineers, and Aero designers to contribute to the performance of our race car.
  • Contribute to developing a culture of continuous improvements in all aspects.
  • Mentor less experienced aerodynamicists to improve their technical skills and knowledge of a race car.

Your profile:

  • At least 6 to 7 years' experience as an aerodynamicist in Formula 1.
  • Strong educational background in aerodynamics, with a degree in engineering that incorporates either aerodynamics or fluid mechanics.
  • Experience in planning and organising aerodynamic projects against pre-agreed targets in collaboration with other Group Leaders.
  • Proficient computer skills including CFD and 3D CAD software (preferably CATIA V5/V6).
  • Strong technical understanding of CFD and wind tunnel test techniques, with experience in running wind tunnel testing programmes.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and an analytical approach, with attention to detail and a high work ethic.
  • The capacity to lead a project and achieve performance targets within strict deadlines.
  • Exceptional communication and organisational skills to effectively manage a small team.
  • Highly self-motivated, dedicated, creative, result-oriented, and able to work independently with some flexibility in terms of working hours.
  • A team player with the initiative to make own decisions, able to work under pressure with minimal supervision.
  • Open to learning from others and sharing knowledge.
