Our Team

Welcome to the Audi F1 Project.

Audi will be competing in the FIA Formula 1 World Championship from 2026.

The new team has three locations. The Sauber Group\’s Formula 1 factory in Hinwil (Switzerland) is known for its innovative technologies and passion for racing. Audi\’s Motorsport Competence Center in Neuburg (Germany) is considered one of the most modern of its kind in Europe. We have recently opened Sauber Motorsport Technology Center in the UK. Our Power Unit comes from Neuburg, while Hinwil is responsible for the development of the chassis and race operations with support from the UK.

Your mission

  • Work effectively to develop CFD processes in an F1 environment
  • Have an impact on how CFD technology is used by the whole aerodynamic department
  • Improve the CFD physical modelling to increase the accuracy of the prediction
  • Work closely with external software providers on specific development projects
  • Contribute meaningfully to future direction and trends in advanced CFD methods
  • Work in an agile software development team

Your profile

  • MSc or PhD in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mathematics or a related field with a strong focus on computational fluid dynamics
  • Knowledge of developing CFD Methods in OpenFOAM
  • Knowledge of high-Reynolds flows physics and turbulence modelling, C++ and Python programming languages
  • Working knowledge of parallel computing and high-performance computing (HPC)
  • Familiarity with software release, update and deployment techniques as well as developing software in Linux environments
  • Strong communication skills both in verbal and in written
  • Pragmatic with a distinct analytical approach at the same time
  • Highly self-motivated, dedicated, creative and results-oriented
  • Able to work independently with a very high attention to detail
  • Persevering, resilient, open-minded, innovative and a team player with a strong focus
  • Ability to support the racing team on a few weekends during the season to help with unexpected problems with the software
  • Eager to be part of a great team, working in a dynamic, cross-functional environment
