Welcome to the Audi F1 Project. Audi will be competing in the FIA Formula 1 World Championship from 2026. The new team has three locations. Audi's Motorsport Competence Center in Neuburg (Germany) is considered one of the most modern of its kind in Europe. The Sauber Group's Formula 1 factory in Hinwil (Switzerland) is known for its innovative technologies and passion for racing. The Sauber Motorsport Technical Center, UK will be operational this year. Our Power Unit comes from Neuburg, while Hinwil is responsible for the development of the chassis and race operations.

Your mission:

  • Work in our Aerodynamic Department with special focus on Aerodynamic Correlation.
  • Apply your competences to improve the understanding and the confidence level of our aerodynamic development numerical and experimental tools.
  • Work closely to the aerodynamic development, to the aero-performance and to the CFD methodology groups.
  • Analyze and interpret aerodynamic performance data from various testing environments to identify areas for development and validation of simulation tools.
  • Support the evaluation of aerodynamic correlation between computational and experimental results to ensure accurate predictions and improvements in on-track performance.

Your profile:

  • MSc/MEng or PhD in aerospace/mechanical/automotive engineering with a focus on aerodynamics and CFD.
  • Minimum 3 years experience in race car aerodynamic development or aerodynamic performance evaluation, including the application of CFD methods.
  • Previous experience in a similar role within an F1 team would be a strong advantage.
  • Knowledge of high Reynolds number flow physics and turbulence modelling.
  • Knowledge of OpenFOAM and major commercial CFD software would be an advantage.
  • Knowledge of WT testing and data acquisition techniques for automotive applications.
  • Familiarity with CAD software (CATIA V6/3D experience an advantage).
  • Programming skills to code scripts and analysis/post-processing tools in Python and VBA.
  • Hardworking, independent and reliable.
  • Self-motivated, responsible and accurate.
  • Open to a culture of continuous learning within the team and good interpersonal skills.
  • Able to foster a collaborative, respectful and trusting environment within the team.
  • Full professional proficiency in English or German and willingness to learn a basic level of the other language required.
