Laboratory / Chemical Production Assistant Location: [Hyde Tameside SK14] Salary: [25-35K] depending on experience Hours: [8am-16.30 pm Mon- Fri] Job Type: Full-time About the Role We are looking for a somebody to become part of our Laboratory / Chemical Engineering team within a busy metal finishing and chemical processing environment. Working across the Aerospace, Automative, Oil and Gas, Defence, Domestic and Nuclear sectors. Whether you are just finishing your studies, working in a similar industry, looking for a change or an expert in the field, all levels will be considered. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who is practical, methodical and has an interest in chemistry and laboratory work. You will support our day-to-day laboratory activities, carrying out routine testing and analysis while also assisting with wider operational tasks. The role will involve working with a range of chemicals and processes, so a strong awareness of health and safety and a willingness to follow procedures accurately is essential. Key Responsibilities Your duties will include: • Monitor and adjust chemical solutions used within our/customers processes. • Develop, trial and register greener and more effective solutions to enhance our Enerjex branded range of products. • Supporting chemical bulk blending; the preparation, validation and occasionally delivery/ decanting. • Assisting with investigation and troubleshooting across the group. • Maintaining a clean, organised and safe laboratory / shopfloor environment. • Following laboratory, chemical handling and health & safety procedures. • Carrying out general duties to support the wider operations of the business. About You We are looking for someone who is: • Practical, reliable and willing to get involved. • Methodical and accurate in their approach. • Comfortable working with chemicals and following safety procedures. • Numerate and able to record and interpret test results. • Able to work independently but also as part of a team. • Willing to undertake a varied role rather than being restricted to laboratory duties. • Keen to learn and develop their knowledge of chemicals and analysis. Previous laboratory, chemical, manufacturing or metal finishing experience would be an advantage, but full training will be provided for the right person. A chemistry or laboratory-related qualification would be beneficial but is not essential. A driving licence however is essential, the role will be based mainly between our two sites in Hyde, working further afield is sometimes required.
