With a heavy focus on web migrations, technical audits, Core Web Vitals, critical render path optimization and agile projects, you will assess and make code-level recommendations for the improvement of client websites on various platforms (Salesforce Commerce Cloud, Adobe Experience Manager, Shopify etc.).
We're looking for someone with a strong analytical and coding background (whether that’s through your university degree or an internship) who is used to working with Python, CSS, HTML and JavaScript. There will be intensive SEO training to help you get to grips with the role expectations. You’ll play a key role in delivering results-focused technical strategies and fixes that align with business goals and elevate organic performance. Working with our Technical SEO Lead, you’ll collaborate closely with the wider SEO and Paid Search teams, ensuring campaigns and tasks are aligned, integrated, and executed flawlessly.
Responsibilities
- Conduct and present PageSpeed/Core Web Vitals audits to identify and recommend solutions to Largest Contentful Paint (LCP), Cumulative Layout Shift (CLS) and Interaction to Next Paint (INP) issues across varying platforms (Salesforce Commerce Cloud, Adobe Experience Manager, etc.).
- Be able to prioritise action items based on development efforts/resource vs impact.
- Help the Tech SEO Lead carry out technical SEO audits to find ways to correct or improve site crawl and indexation, internationalization, rendering, schema markup and other structural page issues.
- Assist the Tech SEO Lead with the technical aspects of site migrations.
- Use and/or build tools to identify technical SEO issues as they arise.
- Respond to client-initiated technical questions/issues as they are presented.
- Develop, prioritize, groom and QA client site development tickets (within JIRA or similar platforms) associated with technical SEO audits.
- Work closely with clients’ development agencies or internal teams to prioritize key optimizations and advise on SEO technical best practices.
- Collaborate with junior and senior SEO colleagues to review progress of project delivery and provide strategic insights.
- Contribute to the improvement of the department by suggesting better, more efficient ways to execute business operations and provide higher-quality output to clients.
Required Skills
- A computer science degree or related degree.
- Strong attention to detail, excellent analytical brain and numeracy understanding with strong emphasis on statistical data.
- Familiarity with HTML, schema, CSS and JS code and making code-level recommendations.
- Familiarity and/or experience working within JIRA or similar technical issue-tracking software.
- Understanding of CMS’s and how they work.
- It would be nice if you can have some prior experience working closely with dev teams, ideally with some Python experience to automate processes such as redirect mappings for migrations.
- Natural curiosity and someone who loves solving an SEO puzzle. We expect you to be curious, to constantly question things and delve deeper.
- Excellent communication and presenting skills, including written & spoken English and an ability to explain and deliver technical recommendations to non-tech experts as well as internal team members.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills, specifically with Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and deadlines.
