Stags' Professional Services team comprises qualified Chartered Surveyors, Valuers, Planning Consultants, Architectural Designers and Land Agents, offering expert advice on diverse property matters and sales.
Role Description: We are recruiting for an Architectural Designer / Architect PART 2/3 / Architectural Technician to join our growing Planning and Design team based in Exeter, as part of our wider Professional Services department spanning the South West. Our work covers a wide range of projects, with a specialisation in small to medium developments and bespoke residential projects in rural areas. The ideal candidate will be looking for a new challenge supporting the established design department, be able to support colleagues as part of a team but also be able to take responsibility for their own workload as required and be comfortable working in a wider multi-disciplinary team. The right candidate will have a desire to grow their professional skills, be motivated and organised, have effective communication skills and the drive to promote new services such as building regulations applications, have experience of developing detailed 2D drawings and have their own means of transport.
Responsibilities: Responsibilities include working under the direction of the Design Manager but leading the technical design work, contributing to team design discussions, undertaking on-site surveys to produce existing drawings, creating design solutions and developing schemes using AutoCAD. The ideal candidate would also have experience detailing and managing building regulations applications through to approval, working with external consultants, Building Control and managing client expectations. This position is suited to someone with the desire to further their professional responsibility and lead a new service, helping to grow the design department’s service offering to new and existing clients. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Qualifications: Proficiency in Architectural Technology and Architecture principles, experience in Technical Drawing and producing Construction Drawings, strong CAD skills using AutoCAD LT, attention to detail and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, familiarity with building regulations and industry standards, relevant qualification in Architectural Technology, Architecture, or a related field, previous experience in a similar role is advantageous.
