Robert Half is working with a long-established, family-owned textile business based in the Greater Manchester area. This business is a second-generation success story supplying a range of high-volume textile goods to major UK retailers and hospitality groups, including prestigious hotel chains.
The company is now seeking a Finance Manager to join their team. This is a hands-on role suited to a qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) or QBE with strong technical accounting skills and a down-to-earth, team-oriented approach.
The Role
You\’ll oversee a remote finance team of five and work closely with the board. Reporting directly to the MD, you will take ownership of the finance function, including:
- Preparation of monthly management accounts
- Leading audit preparation and coordination
- Overseeing day-to-day ledgers, month-end close and financial operations
- Supporting systems improvements and financial controls
- Working with personnel/payroll team and MD on finance matters
What\’s On Offer
- £45,000 – £57,000 salary
- Hybrid working: 1 day per week in the office (Bolton), remainder remote
- Flexible hours; Full time preferred, but part-time applicants (e.g., 3-4 days/week) will be seriously considered
The Ideal Candidate
- Qualified or Qualified by Experience (QBE) with strong accounting fundamentals
- Technically skilled and detail-oriented
- Confident with audit processes, month-end routines, and ledger management
- Able to work independently and remotely with minimal supervision
- Previous SME experience
