Engineering Manager-Buchan
**Joining bonus of £2,000 and a generous relocation package to the right candidate. **
Fancy leading a team of engineers who maintain and repair a diverse fleet of vehicles, as well as managing plant and buildings?
And what if you could develop your engineering team to enhance their skills, passing on all of your technical knowledge to both experienced technicians and eager-to-learn apprentices alike?
Well, if that sounds interesting, we’re looking for an experienced engineer to join and lead our engineering team at our Buchan depots based in Peterhead.
You’ll be leading a team of professionals who are pretty nifty with a spanner, a mop and a paint brush – all of which are equally as important. Let’s face it, none of our customers want a dirty bus that works, or a clean and smart one that doesn’t!
You’ll love having the responsibility of supporting, advising and managing the team on a daily basis to maintain and repair our fleet of around 45 buses and coaches, where you’ll also have the opportunity to manage our buildings and equipment.
It’s a really important role within our depot, so we’ll trust you to ensure vehicles are presented to the high standards that our customers want – and thus you’ll have autonomy over resource management, stock and people. That means you’ll be getting stuck into ordering, managing inventory, recruiting, training, health & safety…so variety will be aplenty! And it goes without saying we’ll give you support, training and development wherever you need to be a brilliant Engineering Manager.
Perhaps you’re happy sticking at Engineering Manager level and that’s fine by us, but if you do want to progress, we’ll support you every step of the way. Next stop on the career ladder is Chief Engineer – one of the most senior roles in our business. You’ll have the opportunity to work alongside our brilliant Engineering Director gaining exposure to work which will develop your skills and experience to allow you to progress your career further.
It goes without saying that there are a couple of things we need in our prospective Engineering Manager…
You don’t have to come from a bus background (but we wouldn’t be put off if you did either!), but you will need to have worked in a related field – such as the truck / light commercial / rail industries in an engineering setting.
People management won’t be completely new to you either. You don’t have to be an existing manager, but you’ll need to be able to evidence of how you’ve managed teams, irrespective of their size.
In return we offer an excellent salary and benefit scheme.
Benefits include:
* 25 days holiday per year, plus bank holidays
* Company pension scheme
* Free bus travel for you and a family member
* Employee discount scheme
* On going training and development
So, if you love working in engineering, have a passion for leading teams, and want to do both with the incredible Stagecoach family in Peterhead, we’d love to receive your application!
