Technician

Engineering Team, Stroud Depot

Location: Stagecoach Stroud Depot, London Rd, Bowbridge, Stroud GL5 2LA

Shift: Full time (39 hours), 5 out of 7 days Monday to Saturday, including occasional bank holiday working. Shift rotation between 0600 hours and 2100 hours.

What we’re looking for…

We are looking for someone reliable and self-motivated to join the engineering team at Stroud Depot as a Technician. The Engineering team is responsible for keeping our bus operation running smoothly, 24 hours a day, from vehicle servicing to fuelling and cleaning.

What will I be doing?

  • Perform vehicle inspections to both DVSA and company standards, including MOT preparation.
  • Undertake routine and preventative maintenance in accordance with company maintenance schedules.
  • Perform a mix of mechanical, electrical and body repairs as required.
  • Complete comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on engines, drivelines, fuel systems, turbochargers, pneumatic systems, hydraulic systems and ABS/EBS braking systems using laptops and other test equipment.
  • Attend vehicle breakdowns and carry out roadside repairs as required.
  • Assist in the workplace training of engineering apprentices.
  • Follow all health and safety guidance and procedures.

What do I need to apply?

  • You will have completed a recognised apprenticeship in HGV or PSV engineering, with a minimum level 3 S/NVQ qualification or equivalent qualification.
  • You will hold a full current car driving license and preferably a bus license, or the ability to attain one.
  • A willingness to learn and be part of a small but crucial team.
  • Be able to work both independently and as a team.
  • You must pass a 3 month probationary period.
