Looking for a hands-on mechanical role where your skills keep the community moving? We are looking for a proactive and skilled Bus Engineering Technician to join our friendly team at Stagecoach Porth. Whether you’re from a truck, HGV, automotive, plant, or rail background, this is your opportunity to work on a modern and varied fleet, including hybrid and electric vehicles, supported by ongoing training as technology and vehicle systems continue to evolve.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Maintaining and repairing our fleet of buses to DVSA and Stagecoach safety standards.
  • Diagnosing and fixing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults using diagnostic equipment including laptop.
  • Completing the full range of mechanical repairs including major unit changes and engine repairs and overhauls.
  • Carrying out routine inspections, servicing, and roadside repairs.
  • Supporting apprentices by sharing your knowledge and experience.
  • Working safely and efficiently as part of a collaborative depot team.

What we’re looking for:

  • NVQ Level 3 in HGV or PSV Maintenance, or equivalent.
  • Hands-on experience working on commercial or specialist vehicles.
  • Experience and competence in using modern diagnostic equipment.
  • Electrical/electronic competence at a basic level.
  • A safety-first attitude and strong attention to detail.
  • A team player with good communication skills.
  • Previous experience working on buses or large passenger vehicles (desirable).
