Mobile Master Technician Based across our London depots (Walthamstow, Lea Interchange, Romford, Rainham, Plumstead, Bromley, Catford, Barking, Leyton, Bow, Ash Grove)
Shift pattern: Monday – Friday
If you’re a multi-skilled vehicle technician who wants more variety, more autonomy, and a great team around you, this could be your perfect move. We’re looking for a Mobile Master Technician to help keep London moving. You’ll be out and about across our depots and on the road, working on a cutting-edge fleet that includes diesel, hybrid and fully electric buses, all while being part of a friendly, supportive Stagecoach London team that’s got each other’s backs. This isn’t just a job, it’s a role where your skills power a city. From the early shift to the night run, your work keeps communities on the move, and we’ll make sure you’re supported and appreciated every step of the way.
What you’ll be doing
- Carrying out scheduled maintenance and safety inspections
- Responding to call-outs and supporting multiple depots across London
- Diagnosing and repairing faults on engines, braking systems, hydraulics, fuel, and electrics using laptops and testing tools
- Servicing and repairing wheelchair ramps and accessibility equipment
- Tackling mechanical, electrical and bodywork tasks as needed
- Verifying that repairs are done right and tested properly
- Mentoring apprentices and sharing your knowledge
- Helping improve fleet reliability using real-world data
- Keeping up with the latest vehicle tech (including EV and mirrorless systems)
What we’re looking for
- A full UK driving licence
- NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in HGV, PCV or vehicle maintenance
- Strong hands-on diagnostic and fault-finding skills
- Someone confident working on modern vehicles, hybrid and electric included
- A safety-first mindset, but quick-thinking and proactive too
- A great communicator and teammate who brings others along
- Experience training or supporting others is a real bonus
