Salary

Pay rate during training of £12:21 per hour (training will last 6 – 8 weeks). On completion of training, hourly pay rate increases to £13.35 rising to £15.00 per hour after 6 months.

We’re looking for friendly, safety-conscious individuals to join us as School Bus Drivers on a new school contract based at our Lincoln Depot. You’ll be responsible for transporting local children to and from school each day – a vital role that helps keep our communities connected.

Fully paid training to help you gain your PCV licence, and we’ll support you every step of the way.

What we offer:

  • £13.35 per hour, after training raising to £15.00 per hour after 6 months
  • Term-time only working – all school holidays off
  • Split shifts, Monday to Friday (mornings and afternoons)
  • Guaranteed 20–30 hours per week (depending on contract)

Responsibilities include:

  • Driving our school buses safely and confidently on local routes
  • Creating a welcoming and supportive environment for pupils
  • Delivering excellent customer service to passengers of all ages
  • Being a reliable and friendly presence in your community

You need to be 18 years old and hold a driving licence with no more than 6 penalty points and have a minimum of 12 months driving experience. Right to work in the UK (You will need to have been in the UK for a minimum of 183 days as part of DVLA requirement) and have been ordinarily resident in the UK and Islands or the British Overseas Territories for the last 3 years OR meet alternative criteria due to funding criteria (can be discussed via application).

A patient, safe and courteous approach is essential, along with being the face of Stagecoach, a positive, friendly attitude and a passion for delivering great customer service. A willingness to learn and be part of a brilliant team is also important.
