Salary: £61,757.09 per annum plus an annual shift allowance of £3,542.67

We are looking for a Deputy Engineering Manager to assist the Engineering Manager in the day-to-day management of the engineering function at our Bow garage in east London. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring that our fleet of buses are maintained to the standard required by the Company, TfL, and the DVSA. Your role will involve achieving maximum vehicle availability, continually improving standards, and directly influencing Health & Safety compliance/culture, fatigue management, and employee wellbeing.

You should have a thorough understanding of mechanical engineering and vehicle maintenance procedures for large vehicles, preferably PCVs, as well as knowledge of electrical engineering, bodywork construction, and basic stores procedures. The ability to gain a Transport CPC, if requested, is essential. Planning, prioritising, analysing, and decision-making skills are also crucial, along with an up-to-date understanding of Health & Safety legislation.

Bow garage operates a varied range of double deck and single deck buses including the New Routemaster of London and new mirrorless buses. It will shortly have a fleet of electric vehicles. As part of our engineering management team, you’ll be key to making sure our vehicles are in top condition to transport our customers around the area.
