Customer Engagement Officer Northampton Fixed-Term Position (6 months) Potential for extension depending on funding
Are you passionate about helping people and improving local transport services? We're looking for a friendly, proactive, and community-minded Customer Engagement Officer to join our Northampton team and help enhance the experience of our bus users across the town and surrounding areas.
What you'll be doing:
- Be a visible and approachable ambassador for bus travel across the town
- Help customers understand their travel options and plan onward journeys
- Support the use of the Stagecoach App, offering guidance and training to customers
- Share important service updates via posters, digital channels, and RTI screens
- Gather feedback and insights to help improve services and remove travel barriers
- Represent Stagecoach at community and council meetings to promote bus use
- Respond to incidents to offer on-the-ground support to both customers and colleagues
- Support revenue protection and assist in addressing anti-social behaviour reports
- Attend events and initiatives to promote sustainable travel and boost ridership
What you'll bring:
- Experience in a customer-facing role
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Confidence in working independently and taking initiative
- Familiarity with the local bus network and geography
- Ability to travel easily across the area (including using upper decks of buses)
- Willingness to spend time outdoors, walking and standing at stops and interchanges
